Sea Spray Earrings

Regular price $75.00

That feeling when a wave catches you off guard and leaves you laughing, a little breathless, and completely alive. That is Sea Spray.

These earrings are for the woman who does not take herself too seriously. The one who shows up to brunch, to a spontaneous afternoon by the water, and lights up the room without even trying. Light blue enamel forms the dreamy base, while splashes of dark blue, cream, and seafoam tumble across the surface in a pattern that is never the same twice. Wear them and feel the ease of a day with nowhere to be and nothing to prove.

Each pair is handcrafted using a layered enamel technique where small pieces of colored enamel are melted directly onto the final base color, creating organic, one-of-a-kind splashes of accent color. No two pairs are identical. Suspended from sterling silver ear wires, they measure approximately 1.75 inches in length, lightweight enough to forget you are wearing them.

Handcrafted with gratitude. Worn with intention.

  • vitreous enamel on copper
  • sterling ear wires
  • length, approximately 1.75”
  • lightweight
  • style: dangle, coastal, everyday

FAQ

What is vitreous enamel?

Vitreous enamel is an ancient art form that sits right at the intersection of science and beauty, which is probably why I fell in love with it.

The process begins with copper sheet metal, carefully cut into shapes by hand. Finely powdered glass in a range of colors is then applied to the metal in layers and fired in a kiln at 1,450 degrees Fahrenheit. Each layer fuses to the one before it, building depth, richness, and color that simply cannot be replicated any other way.

From the first cut of metal to the finished piece, the process involves 20 or more individual steps. There are no shortcuts to that kind of beauty.

Occasionally I source pre-cut copper shapes rather than sawing them myself, but every step from that point forward is done entirely by hand in my studio.

The result is jewelry that is not just worn. It is carried. Each piece holds layers of intention, craft, and heat-forged color that will last a lifetime.

What is Fine Silver?

Fine silver is a form of silver that is 99.9% silver. It doesn't tarnish as fast as sterling silver.

What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is a metal alloy containing 92.5% silver. The remaining portion is usually copper which makes it more stable but also makes it tarnish faster than fine silver.
